1. Balance the inside of the turbine.
2. Balance the outside of the turbine.
3. Balance the inside of the compressor impeller.
4. Balance the outside of the compressor impeller.
5. Assemble the rotor set. Check the straightness of the shaft and do not continue if it is off by 0.0003 inches.
6. Perform a rotor assembly balance check. First the inside of the compressor, then the inside of the turbine.
7. Reassemble it back to the loaded center housing/hub rotation assembly (CHRA).Drop it into our high-speed balancing machine and do the final balancing.
The major Turbochargers manufacturers go through a very similar process, but with slightly different mechanics. They do the same balance. Some final balance is a machine that keeps spinning components until it's perfect. This process does not remove any material used for imbalance correction.
